Marden Half Marathon

The Marden Half Marathon is a small Mid-Kent road race held at Marden Memorial Hall near Tonbridge, starting and finishing in Marden village. Taking place in November, it offers both a half marathon and a 10K, providing a shorter option for those who prefer the quiet rural setting without the full distance. With a limit of 500 participants, the race maintains a low-key atmosphere, a contrast to the large crowds found at big-city events. The course follows country roads and winding lanes around Marden, featuring minimal traffic and very little elevation gain. The 10K is a single lap, while the half marathon is a lapped course with a brief detour in the latter part. The event relocated to Marden from the former Mid-Kent Half venue at Hollingbourne. Previous accounts mention a local, club-oriented field, race headquarters offering tea and coffee, and ample room at the finish for the winner to finish distinctly ahead of other competitors.
