Oulton Park Autumn Duathlon is an end-of-season run-bike-run event held at Oulton Park Circuit in Cheshire. The race utilizes the closed motor-racing circuit, with race briefings and transitions taking place in the pit lane. This setup provides a track meet atmosphere rather than a typical park-road duathlon. Two distances are offered: Sprint and Standard. The Sprint consists of a 4.3 km run, a 21.6 km bike, and a final 4.3 km run. The Standard comprises an 8.6 km run, a 38.8 km bike, and a concluding 4.3 km run.
The race format is clear, with rule variations based on distance: the Sprint is draft-legal, whereas the Standard races are non-drafting. The multi-lap bike leg allows athletes to monitor their pacing and splits. The run loop features an uphill section that can be challenging if the initial run is paced too aggressively. The event accommodates PTWC, PTVI, PTS2-5, and Youth categories. The Standard distance also functions as a European qualifier, attracting age-group competitors aiming for selection and local athletes concluding their multisport season.
