Pretty Muddy Sandwell is a Race for Life 5K held at Sandwell Valley Country Park in Sandwell, West Midlands. It is a muddy obstacle-course run, not a straight road race: participants climb, crawl, and slide their way around the course. The main event starts in the morning, and the distance is just over 3 miles, with many people taking about an hour to finish.
The tone is deliberately relaxed, with no pressure to hit a time or race hard. People can enter on their own or come with friends and family, and there is also a Pretty Mud Kids Race earlier in the morning. Like other Race for Life events, the point is to raise money for cancer research, with fundraising supported through GoFundMe.
