Riverside Half Marathon

Starting behind the George & Dragon Pub, the Riverside Half Marathon follows the riverbank instead of navigating through traffic. First held in 2013, it retains the character of a local race: direct, functional, and utilizing the Lune Estuary footpath, with the River Lune guiding you toward Caton and offering "superb views of the Lune Valley." The route consists primarily of roads and paths, with a mostly flat profile. It begins on the riverside path at New Quay Road and includes the "newly designed and revamped Lancaster Quay." Participants will run alongside unaffiliated runners, club runners, and those wearing Lancaster Runner’s Club vests, with the additional element of the "British Northern Veteran Half Marathon Championships." Finishers receive a medal and t-shirt, a straightforward reward fitting for this event.
