The Rothwell Kebabathon begins at Skelton Lake Services, near Rothwell in Leeds, directing runners onto the trails of Rothwell Country Park. Participants can select from 10K, half marathon, 20 mile, and marathon distances, accommodating preferences from a brief trail run to a full marathon over varied terrain. This event maintains a relaxed, social atmosphere, concluding with a food-themed finish that distinguishes it from typical road races.
The course incorporates woodland paths, riverside trails, grassy areas, and brief road connections. The terrain is generally runnable with moderate elevation changes, offering expansive views of the surroundings. Aid stations are positioned approximately every three miles, with marshals providing support throughout the course. Post-race amenities include a unique medal, refreshments, and a relaxed social space. Complimentary parking is provided, with a suggestion for car sharing.
