The Run to the Sea Bournemouth Ultramarathon is a 50km point-to-point race beginning at Moors Valley Country Park and concluding by the coast in Bournemouth. It is a trail-and-path ultra, not a road marathon, with sufficient support to make the distance manageable for runners attempting an ultra for the first time, while still offering experienced runners a specific 50km time to aim for.
The route utilizes the Castleman Trail through wooded areas before heading toward the coast and finishing along the coastal path at Hengistbury Head. Participants will encounter forest trails, coastal paths, and regular feed stations. Organisers allow runners to place their own food at these stations, a benefit for those familiar with their nutritional needs during long runs.
