The Deal Castle 5 Mile 2026

The Deal Castle 5 Mile begins on the promenade adjacent to Deal Castle, with the sea close to the race start. It is a brief road race on an out-and-back route, preceded by a Junior 1500m Fun Run. Race HQ is the Sea Scout Hut on the promenade near the public toilets on Marine Road; parking is typically available along the seafront or in Deal town car parks. The structure is simple: collect your number on race day, run from the castle-side promenade, and return for prize presentations at the Sea Scout Hut. The junior race offers separate prizes for boys and girls in age groups from under-6 to 13-14. The main race awards prizes to the first male and female overall, age-category finishers from senior through vet 70+, the oldest finisher, and club teams (requiring club kit and England Athletics affiliation). Race director Margaret Reidy looks forward to cheering runners across the finish line.
