The MTC Severn Way Ultra is a 57-mile trail ultra in England. It begins at Travelodge Worcester and concludes at Travelodge Stonehouse in Gloucestershire, following the River Severn footpath. This point-to-point race covers approximately 91.7 km with modest elevation changes: about 365 metres of ascent and 392 metres of descent. The primary difficulty lies in the distance, the extended time on foot, and navigating the varied riverside paths, towns, and villages.
Runners depart Worcester, traveling south past Upton-on-Severn and Tewkesbury before arriving in Gloucester. The course then continues alongside the river through Epney, Priding, and Frampton-on-Severn en route to Stonehouse. Trainerday identifies this as a demanding UK run, suited for determined trail runners, not casual road racers. Aid station provisions are vegan and gluten-free. All finishers are awarded a custom MTC Severn Way Ultra medal and an MTC head visor. Participants must arrange their own transportation to the start and from the finish, a practical consideration given the race's endpoint is far downstream from its origin.
