Hibernal Hills is a winter ultra series in Hampshire, offering 50-mile, 50K, and 20-mile options. The main 50-mile race covers 53 miles with approximately 6,400 ft of elevation change. It begins in the morning and has a 15.5-hour time limit. While the route is described as runnable, it presents a challenging trail day with significant hills. Participation is open to runners aged 20 and older, and the 50-mile event requires a prior qualifying race.
The course is almost entirely off-road, consisting of 99% trail and 1% road. The initial 50K utilizes the Staunton Way and Monarchs Way. Subsequently, the route transitions to the South Downs Way for the final miles leading to the finish. Full course marking aids navigation, and participants will find six aid stations. The race holds UTMB Index status, awards 3 ITRA points, operates under an ARC permit, and is also a component of the South Downs Triple Crown.
