The Valentine’s Day 10k is a February road 10K held on Valentine’s Day weekend. Club-organised races take place in Chessington, Greater London, and Norfolk. The Chessington race, presented by 26.2 Road Runners Club, begins at 8am from Chessington School on Garrison Lane. It serves as an opening fixture for the Surrey Road League. The Norfolk Gazelles race also occurs each February near Valentine’s Day, covering a 10 km road course west of Norwich.
The Chessington event focuses on road runners and club teams. Parking is available at Barwell Business Park. Past editions awarded a prize for the club with the largest turnout. The Norfolk course winds through country lanes in Easton and Marlingford, featuring rolling sections suitable for fast running. Its participants include club athletes and elite competitors. A long history of past results indicates a strong club-racing tradition, distinct from a one-off fun run.
