POWERADE B2Run Athens 2026
B2Run Athens is a 5-kilometer corporate run held at the Olympic Athletic Center of Athens. Participants begin at the OAKA stadium and run within the Olympic Stadium grounds. The event takes place on a Thursday and is designed for company teams, allowing CEOs, managers, executives, and interns to compete together, without regard to workplace hierarchy.
Over 2,000 runners from various industries participate, wearing their company colors and representing their employers over the 5-kilometer course. This is the sixth edition of the series, organized by ευΖΗΝ feelόsophy. Following the race, an after-run party commences, featuring live music, a DJ set, a Street Food Festival, an awards ceremony, and a competition for the most original corporate team attire.
Kallithea Night Run
Thousands of runners participate in the Kallithea Night Run, illuminating El. Venizelou Avenue with headlamps after dark. This annual October road event in Kallithea, part of the Athens urban area, offers 10K, 5K, and 2.5K distances. The Filathlitikos Association of Kallithea-Moschato-Tavrou, in conjunction with the Municipality of Kallithea, organizes the event. It is held under the auspices of entities such as the Region of Attica, SEGAS, the General Secretariat of Sports, and BeActive Hellas.
The start and finish lines are located at Tzitzifies Square. The course follows the central avenue from the Poseidonos Avenue junction towards Agia Eleousa Church. All routes are certified by AIMS International and World Athletics, ensuring accurate measurements for both short family distances and official road races. Typically, over 3,500 participants, including children, families, club runners, and elite Greek athletes in track and long-distance disciplines, take part. The event's motto is "Let's light up Kallithea," and it also supports social causes and ORAMA ELPIDAS, the Vision of Hope association, through a portion of its proceeds.
43ος Αυθεντικός Μαραθώνιος
The Athens Authentic Marathon, held in November, is Greece’s main marathon event. It centers on the race known in Greece as “the Authentic.” The full marathon is the primary event, complemented by a 10K run during the same weekend and a 5K the preceding day. This structure accommodates both long-distance athletes and those seeking a shorter urban race.
The marathon route traces the historical path from Marathon to Athens, concluding at the Panathenaic Stadium. This connects the contemporary race to the legend that inspired the marathon distance. The event also includes the Panhellenic Marathon Championship, bringing together national-level Greek competitors alongside club runners, participants running for charity, international visitors, and novice runners.
Athens Marathon: The Authentic
The Athens Marathon: The Authentic begins at the ancient battlefield in Marathon and concludes inside Athens’ Olympic Stadium. It is a 26.2-mile road marathon on asphalt, following the route connected to the legend of Phidippides carrying news of victory from Marathon to Athens.
The first 12 kilometers are level, the next 19 kilometers traverse long, gentle hills, and the final 11 kilometers descend toward the city. The race follows the original Athens marathon route, the same one used for the Athens Olympic marathon, offering runners a course rich in history: a battlefield start, a challenging middle section, and a stadium finish tied to the modern Olympic Games.
Athens Authentic Marathon
The Athens Marathon begins in Marathon town and concludes within the all-marble Panathenaic Stadium in Athens, close to the Acropolis. This annual road race in Greece typically takes place in early November, covering the standard 42.195 kilometers on asphalt. The event is frequently referred to as “The Authentic” because it mirrors the original concept of the marathon: a run from Marathon to Athens.
The course connects to the legend of Pheidippides, the ancient messenger who supposedly ran from the battlefield at Marathon to Athens to announce a Greek victory over the Persians. The contemporary race commences near the historical battlefield site and finishes in the stadium constructed for the first modern Olympic Games. This same route was also utilized for the Athens Olympic marathon, meaning participants are not merely running a city race but crossing the path most directly associated with the origin of the marathon distance.
