The Mátra hills provide the character for this race, featuring proper road riding. The 6th edition joins the UCI Gran Fondo World Series, serving as a world championship qualifying race. It remains designed for amateur cyclists, welcoming beginners with no license required to start and no gear restrictions. The signature element is the finish atop Kékestető, the country's highest point, making it a challenging ascent rather than an easy finish. The standard routes are retained, but the event now begins with a new Friday time trial, extending it into a three-day challenge for those seeking more than a mass-start gran fondo.
