Below Solymári Castle, the second SzalamandRUN starts and finishes at the edge of the Buda hills. This is a trail running event, not a polished road race, with varied starts for adults, children, families, beginners, relaxed runners, hard chargers, and the 60+ crowd. The event is set close to the woods, with enough structure to race it seriously if desired.
Expect varied terrain: forest dirt roads, asphalt sections, painted arrows, ribbons, and signs guiding you along nature-close routes. Longer-course runners must carry a phone and water, indicating the event has genuine trail characteristics even on accessible paths. All participants finish back near the castle, receiving chip timing, medals, and shirts. Aid is provided on longer routes and at the finish, along with the notable feature of environmentally conscious organization.
