Benkó Zoltán Leisure Centre provides this race a local, park-based atmosphere: green, open, and active with runners rather than a polished event sheen. The Hírös Félmaraton has significant history, with a longer format introduced after many years, and the wider Aktív Kecskemét support for the “Movement on Prescription” program gives it a community-health foundation. School children participate, so it is not solely the typical club-runner group. Expect laps, variable weather, and a start area where participants decide last-minute to attach a bib. One past edition faced rain during setup and race morning, yet "hundreds stood at the start," with more same-day entries than in the prior five years. Finishers received a substantial package, including bakery items and drinks, fitting for a damp, straightforward local run.
