Puchberg am Schneeberg offers a start line that quickly clarifies the day's challenge. The 25th Raiffeisen Schneeberglauf, the easternmost Alpine mountain running race, sends its main adult races from the village towards the Salamandra railway’s mountain station, situated just below Hochschneeberg. The race's core concept is straightforward: "human against machine." Runners ascend the mountain, with the railway serving as both a landmark and the finish line. Adults face the complete uphill challenge, while Schneeberg Kids compete in shorter races.
