5Mila is a late-summer cycling festival held in Porto Recanati, on Italy's Adriatic coast in the Marche region. Its primary Granfondo route covers approximately 115 km with 1,700 m of elevation gain, beginning as a coastal ride and transitioning to a challenging inland route. The event also features gravel riding, with a 69 km course offering 800 m of climbing, and the demanding 5Mila Extreme, a 300 km brevet test for Ari Audax Italia that includes over 5,000 m of climbing.
The long road course starts with 10 km along the coast, followed by the first significant climb from Porto Potenza Picena: 6.5 km at an average gradient of 4.5%. This is succeeded by about 25 km of rolling terrain, featuring inclines up to 8%, and further moderate climbs towards Montecassiano and Montefano. A stepped climb near Filottrano, with gradients around 6% and 7%, concludes the main ascent sections. The festival covers more than just the race, offering side events, rest stops, a children's area, parking, and a pasta party for participants. It is the Italian stage of the Granfondo World Tour, and Italian cycling media have ranked the Granfondo among the nation's top ten.
