The Salaria Run is a competitive road race in Italy’s Marche region, connecting the inland city of Ascoli Piceno with the Adriatic coast at San Benedetto del Tronto. It provides two adult-only options: a 33.5 km point-to-point race from Ascoli Piceno to San Benedetto del Tronto, and a 21.1 km half marathon starting in Castel di Lama and finishing in San Benedetto del Tronto. The event is on the national UISP calendar and organized by AVIS Ascoli Marathon and Flipper Triathlon Ascoli, with support from the municipalities at each end of the route.
The format originates from the historic Ascoli-San Benedetto competition, so the longer race retains the appeal of running from city to sea. Entries are limited to 1,000, open to UISP, FIDAL and other registered athletes, Runcard holders, and foreign runners with valid documents. The entry includes practical arrangements for a point-to-point race: shuttle buses, bag drop, bag transport, chip timing, on-course refreshments, medical support, finisher medals, and a post-race pasta party.
