Gran Trail Courmayeur is a July mountain trail-running series held in Courmayeur, on the Italian side of Mont Blanc. Runners can choose from three distances: a 100 km ultra with 7,400 meters of elevation gain, a 55 km race with 3,500 meters of elevation gain, and a 30 km race with 2,000 meters of elevation gain. The 100 km race begins at 22:00, meaning its initial hours are spent running at night in the mountains; the 55 km starts at 7:00, and the 30 km starts at 9:00.
The cutoffs reflect the challenging terrain: 33 hours for the 100 km, 18 hours for the 55 km, and 8 hours for the 30 km. The event also features the Mont Blanc Trail Fest, an online briefing offered in Italian and English, official TORX and Kailas merchandise, and a volunteer program. It is part of a larger network of trail competitions, attracting runners seeking a Mont Blanc race weekend with options from a demanding 30 km to a full high-alpine ultra.
