Granfondo La Medievale takes place over a September weekend in Lazio, focusing on San Polo dei Cavalieri, Guidonia, and the roads near Tivoli. The event includes a Saturday time trial and a Sunday granfondo-style road race, with both offering Italian FCI national champion jerseys for Master categories. Over 500 cyclists participate, positioning the event as a blend of a large-scale granfondo and a competitive amateur championship.
The long route covers 105 km with approximately 1,780 m of elevation gain, crossing the Parco dei Monti Lucretili and concluding with an uphill finish in San Polo dei Cavalieri. Start locations have varied between Guidonia Military Airport and Tivoli, depending on the edition. Organized by ASD Ciclismo Lazio, the event utilizes MySDAM timing, is part of the Circuito Fantagiro, and is in its tenth year. A past race saw Nicolò Tamussi win by five seconds over Rossano Mauti after a three-rider breakaway built a four-minute lead before the final ascent; Loretta Giudici secured the women's victory by 50 seconds.
