A headlamp is required for La Notte dei Giganti, a summer night running event in Peccioli, Tuscany. It is part of the FIDAL Circuito Strade d’Oro and offers three hilly white-road routes: a competitive 14 km race with 415 m of climbing, and 10 km and 7 km non-competitive options with 340 m and 215 m of climbing.
All runners begin at the Fonte Mazzola amphitheater following a mandatory briefing and a brief address from local officials. The start connects to one of Peccioli’s Giants, the large public artworks that lend the race its name, and the finish is located on the cantilevered terrace of Palazzo Senza Tempo in the historic center. The event attracts over 900 runners, ranging from experienced racers to those seeking a night run, and concludes with a complimentary street dinner for participants in the town center.
