La Via del Sale MTB 2026

La Via del Sale MTB is a mountain bike granfondo held in Limone, within Italy’s Cuneo province. It offers two race distances: a long route of approximately 49-50 km and a medium route of 30 km. Both courses feature significant climbing, with the long route accumulating around 1,800-2,000 m of elevation gain and the shorter one about 1,100 m. The event takes place in June and is part of the Marathon Bike Cup circuit, with connections to Prestigio MTB and affiliation through the Federazione Ciclistica Italiana. The course utilizes the mountain terrain surrounding Limone Piemonte, including sections through the Forti Sabaudi and along the historic Alta Via del Sale, an old high-altitude path near the French-Italian border. The long route has been adjusted to distribute the climbing more evenly, aiming to reduce its severity without making it simple. G.S. Cervaschese 98 is the organizer, providing participants with standard race provisions: timing, services, and a race bag.
