Marathon de Sanremo

Marathon de Sanremo is a road-running event in Sanremo, on Italy’s Ligurian coast, taking place in early December. The event offers a full marathon, half marathon, 10K, 5K, and 2.5K Family Run. This range of distances accommodates competitive racing, casual participation, juniors, adults, and families. The 5K is free and open to all ages, including timing, medical support, refreshments, bag storage, and a finisher medal for those completing the course. The course follows the former railway line along the Ligurian Sea, utilizing the cycle path within the Riviera dei Fiori coastal park. It is predominantly straight and nearly flat, run as an out-and-back. This profile suits runners aiming for a personal best, though coastal winds can be a factor. The railway project that elevated and duplicated the tracks created usable land by the sea, and the race now uses this path through Sanremo, a city known for its gardens, exotic plants, and flower cultivation.
