The Sellaronda Skimarathon is a night ski-mountaineering race circling the Sella massif in the Dolomites. It covers a 42 km course with over 2,700 meters of elevation gain, navigated by headlamp. The race connects Trentino Alto-Adige and Veneto, passing through the four Ladin valleys near Canazei, Corvara, Arabba, and Selva di Val Gardena, with the starting point alternating among them.
Unlike many ski-mountaineering events, it follows downhill ski slopes, omitting off-piste or technical climbing sections. The format remains demanding: pairs compete after sunset in cold temperatures, facing a tight time limit and continuous transitions between ascents and descents.
