The 37th Stormo Triathlon Sprint begins at Lido Azzurro in Marausa, by the sea, before proceeding into the Birgi military airport. This sprint-distance triathlon features a 750-meter sea swim, a 21-kilometer bike course, and a 5-kilometer run. Over 150 athletes participate, including many from the Armed Forces and military organizations in the Trapani region.
Following the swim, athletes transition and complete the bike and run segments on airport taxiways, the secondary runway, and internal military roads. The swim is supported by 82nd Combat SAR lifeguards and Trapani fire brigade water-rescue teams on jet skis. Medical support is provided by the Italian Red Cross, Misericordia Trapani-Sant'Alberto, and the 37th Stormo infirmary. Visually impaired athlete Maurizio Romeo, with guide Ennio Salerno, achieved a notable victory, finishing in 1:05:14.
