The Triathlon Sprint Città di Tirrenia is a sprint-distance triathlon on the Tuscan coast, based in Tirrenia near Pisa. Athletes swim 750 metres in the Tyrrhenian Sea, ride 20 kilometres, and run 5 kilometres, with each leg set as a single lap. The bike and run courses are flat, with no elevation gain listed, and the race routes are closed to vehicle traffic.
The course keeps the race close to the coast: the swim uses open water, the bike leg heads through the surrounding Tuscan landscape, and the run follows the beach area. Polisportiva Phisio Sport Lab organizes the event, which sits within a broader push to bring triathlon back to the Pisa shoreline for a wide range of athletes. The program has included kids’ triathlon, paratriathlon, sprint and Olympic-distance racing, plus side events such as a team time trial and a half-mile open-water swim. The same sea and roads have also hosted Italian championship racing, so the event has more history than a small seaside sprint might first suggest.
