The essence of the Nishikinohama 8-Hour Endurance Relay Marathon centers on sharing the effort rather than individual achievement, allowing teams to determine their own running order and establish a sustained team rhythm. The course consists of a repeating loop, providing the characteristic relay experience of monitoring time, locating teammates, and anticipating the next exchange. Teams can comprise two to twenty runners, with flexibility in the running order and the number of legs each person runs, adding a strategic element to the event.
