Bruggentocht begins at Clubhouse Barrhopoort on Zuider Carnisseweg in Barendrecht, offering cyclists a choice of 75 or 125 kilometers. This is a touring ride, not a closed-road race, with staggered start times. The shorter route departs between 9 AM and 11 AM, and the longer route between 9 AM and 10 AM. Registration is on the morning of the event at the clubhouse, with no advance entry. Payment can be made by debit card. Barrhopoort members and individuals under 18 participate without charge; other adults pay a modest fee, with a reduction for NTFU members.
The name reflects the course: the routes feature multiple bridge crossings, such as the Dordtse Brug, the Moerdijkbrug, and the bridge over the Noord. The ride crosses the Biesbosch and Noord-Brabant regions. GPX files are provided for those using cycling computers. Participation is open to members and non-members alike, and racing bikes are not required. Each distance includes a refreshment stop: the 75 km route pauses at Delifrance in Sliedrecht, while the 125 km route stops at Fort Bakkerskil in Nieuwendijk. Free parking is available for drivers at sports park de Doorbraak in Barendrecht.
