Campus Trail Groningen 2026

Campus Trail Groningen is a 6.4-kilometer fun run on the Zernike Campus in Groningen, held annually on the second Friday of September. The race utilizes the campus itself: runners pass directly through buildings, including labs and offices, and navigate normally inaccessible areas. It welcomes both campus affiliates and the general public, with companies, students, staff, and other participants sharing the same route. The course is dynamic; Plus Ultra Groningen served as the start and finish in the most recent iteration, while the Energy Barn was a prior starting location. The event is closely linked to the Campus Groningen community and is organized with collaborators such as Hanzehogeschool Groningen, Rijksuniversiteit Groningen, Bedrijvenvereniging WEST, ACLO, and the Sportcentrum. It maintains the atmosphere of a community day focused on work and study, rather than a competitive road race, featuring a musical warm-up, water and fruit stations, post-race refreshments, corporate teams, spectators, and a finisher's medal.
