De Loop van Leidsche Rijn is a Sunday running event held in Máximapark, a large green space in the center of Leidsche Rijn, Utrecht. Participants can select from 5 km, 10 km, or 15 km distances. The 15 km serves as the primary race, while the 10 km is designed for those seeking a fast time or a personal best. A 500-meter Lint-Wurmpie Run is available for children aged three and up, making it suitable as a family day alongside the races.
The 10 km course consists of a single, fast lap within Máximapark. The 15 km course involves two laps, passing the finish area midway, which allows spectators to cheer on participants twice. The event attracts runners from Leidsche Rijn, Utrecht, and nearby regions, including competitive, recreational, young, and older runners. A charity walk is also part of the day. Post-race activities at the finish area include food trucks, music, drinks, and entertainment. Entry is limited to 5,000 participants, and the organizing club is affiliated with Atletiekunie, the Dutch athletics federation.
