De Maasdijk Hardlopen guides runners from multiple villages to a single finish line in the center of Oss. This running event spans multiple distances along the Maas River in the municipality of Oss, taking place on the third weekend of June. The program includes a half marathon, 10k, 5k, and 1k races. Specifically, the 10k is known as De 10 van Nellen, the 5k as the Van Mun 5k Run, and the shortest race is the Rabo Family Color Run. The half marathon also accommodates a 10-person school relay, indicating the event caters to more than just individual runners aiming for a personal best.
The courses are designed as linear routes, not circuits: participants begin in various local villages and all proceed towards the Oss city center. All routes are free of vehicle traffic, and race times are captured electronically. The 1k, 5k, and 10k races are open to athletes with disabilities, including blind runners, framerunners, and wheelchair participants. Younger participants also benefit, with those aged 15 and under receiving a 50% discount on the standard entry fee. The full marathon was previously included in the Maasdijk events but was relocated to the December Maasdijk Winterrun; one particularly warm year saw its distance reduced to a half marathon for participant safety.
