The DEM Kermisloop is a local running race in Beverwijk's city center, integrated with the town's festival week instead of following a typical road-race format. AV DEM, along with the Beverwijk festival committee and a cycling club, organizes the event, which limits participation to 300 runners. The race is divided by age: children up to 11 years old compete in a 1,250-meter distance, those aged 12 to 15 run 2,500 meters, and participants 16 and older complete a 7,500-meter course.
The route follows a circuit through central Beverwijk, covering Breestraat, Peperstraat, Koningstraat, and Zeestraat before returning to Breestraat. The start and finish lines are situated near the VIP tent. Younger participants complete one lap, teenagers do two laps, and adults run four laps. This event draws inspiration from a long-standing kermis race tradition in Santpoort, adapted for Beverwijk's festival, and coincided with the city's 750th anniversary.
