The Duin en Kruid Lenteloop starts and finishes at Midden Herenduin near Santpoort-Noord, with routes through the dune area of Nationaal Park Duin en Kruidberg. It is a small spring charity run, not a big-city road race, with 4 km, 8 km, and a longer option around 12 to 13 km depending on the edition. The event uses a quiet setup with few spectators, and the Midden Herenduin base gives runners and organizers more room.
The 8 km and long routes begin on the same forest-and-dune course, featuring changing ground, vegetation, views, and short climbs or drops. The longer route adds an out-and-back section of about 5 km to the beach, while the 4 km route goes to a turning point and back, allowing younger runners to follow it easily without getting lost. Adults can also choose the 4 km if the 8 km feels too far, which keeps the field mixed without turning the race into a large event.
