The Epic Trail Baraque de Fraiture begins at the summit of the Baraque de Fraiture ski slope, situated at 652 meters elevation, close to one of Belgium's highest elevations. This trail-running series offers distances of 101 km, 78 km, 48 km, 36 km, and 20 km, allowing participants to select from an ultra-distance event to a shorter mountain-style race. The courses are approximately 90% unpaved, with the organizers as relatively fast and not highly technical.
The routes traverse open high ground, wooded areas, marshy sections, less-traveled valleys, and offer several regional viewpoints. A swift descent guides runners back towards the finish line. The EPIC 100K has 600 available spots with an 18-hour time limit, and the overall event accommodates up to 2000 participants, divided between member and non-member registrations. The inaugural edition saw nearly 1000 runners, and all finishers are eligible for UTMB Index points.
