Gelderse Poort Ultra

The Gelderse Poort Ultra is a 50 km trail ultra around the floodplains near Nijmegen, starting from Fletcher Landgoed Hotel Holthurnsche Hof in Berg en Dal. This Dutch Ultra Series race includes about 850 meters of climbing, distinguishing it from a flat riverland run. The participant limit is 634, and finishers earn a UTMB index. Runners navigate the course using GPX, with aid stations positioned every 10 to 15 km, requiring participants to carry sufficient food and drink for self-supported sections. The course crosses wet floodplains, forest leading toward Berg en Dal, farmland, heath paths, and the Duivelsberg. The second loop features more significant elevation changes and extensive singletrack, with technical paths and repeated climbs demanding attention underfoot.
