Hondsrugcross Emmen

The Hondsrugcross is a January forest race held in the Emmerdennen, a wooded area near Emmen in Drenthe. Participants can select a 4 km or 8 km course, while children have separate 1 km and 2 km runs. Athletics club E.A.C. de Sperwers of Emmen organizes the event, which is also part of the club’s Loopcircuit. The race takes place on cross-country terrain, not paved roads. Past accounts mention a challenging hill and muddy sections close to the finish line. The Schutrups Hondsrugcross name is also associated with the event. Organizers provide results, race reports, and photographs, with prizes awarded to the top three finishers.
