Kermisrun Tilburg sends runners straight over the Tilburg Fair, with parts of the route going through fair attractions instead of just along city streets. It is held on the first Sunday of the fair in the center of Tilburg, with AV Attila organizing it and start waves setting runners off in groups. The event is more about the experience than racing the clock: there is no time registration, and recent editions offer short city-run distances such as 4 and 8 kilometers.
The start and finish are at Poppodium 013, and the course can lead through buildings in the city center, past the Piushaven, and into places a normal road race would never enter. Earlier routes have included the Ferris wheel, bumper cars, cakewalk, and camel race, while runners may also get rides in attractions during the run. Entertainment, snacks, poffertjes, cotton candy, a visit to Woonzorgcentrum Joannes Zwijsen, and a finisher medal all fit the fairground feel, so the field is capped and the event can sell out.
