Loopfestijn Dalfsen

PLINQ Loopfestijn Dalfsen is a village running day held at Kerkplein in Dalfsen, located in the Vechtdal region of Overijssel. The program includes children’s races and distances of 2.5 km, 5 km, 10 km, and a half marathon, plus a separate Bongers TEAM-RUN for company teams. It takes place in early September, positioning it as a late-summer local sports festival rather than a large-city race weekend. Dalfsen has approximately 9,250 residents, with the wider village area including Hoonhorst, Oudleusen, and Ankum totaling 15,270 people. The event supports a different local charity each year; Hospice Dalfsen received EUR 750, and EHBO Dalfsen was a past beneficiary. Dalfsen's history is extensive for its size: its name is found in medieval records, it never obtained city rights, and nearby archaeological finds include a Bronze Age road, a large Neolithic burial ground with at least 120 funnel beakers, and early medieval graves with jewelry and gold swords.
