LoveLife Run - Deventer

The LoveLife Run Deventer is a sponsored run and walk taking place in Deventer, Overijssel, offering 1 km and 5 km distances in November. While the 5 km is the primary distance, the event is designed for both running and walking. This inclusivity is significant as many participants are current or former cancer patients who run or walk with loved ones, caregivers, and medical professionals. Organized by Stichting Fight cancer, the focus is on raising donations for cancer research and local care, rather than solely on race times. The course is situated near Deventer Hospital and Brinkgreven, connecting the event directly to the local cancer care network. Funds raised benefit Fight cancer, Deventer Hospital, the Knowledge Center Oncology, and IPSO Center Salland. Participants have the opportunity to train weekly in small groups led by running coaches, with oncology physiotherapists offering guidance during their preparation. Each participant receives a personal fundraising page, and teams frequently form around patients, their families, friends, and healthcare providers, resulting in a start line featuring individuals with diverse roles within the same health journey.
