Midzomernachtcross is a summer evening run held in the Amsterdamse Bos, with its start and finish at the Klein Kinderbad near Amstelveen. This recreational event offers a range of distances: 1 English mile for youth and newer runners, 5 km, 10 km, and 10 English miles (approximately 16 km). The course is flat and fast, making it suitable for beginners completing their first race and for runners aiming for a strong pace.
The route follows forest bike paths and footpaths, primarily on rough asphalt with sections of hard ground and small stones, meaning spikes are not recommended. The 10 km distance can be completed individually or as part of a team. Participants include young runners, older runners, club athletes, and first-timers. Atletiekvereniging Startbaan from Amstelveen organizes the event, which is affiliated with the Atletiekunie and attracted about 2,000 participants last year.
