PODOrun Sonderkamp & Wijnands

PODOrun Sonderkamp & Wijnands is a paved running event in Kessel, Limburg, organized by Atletiek Helden for juniors and adults. The adult races are 2.5 km, 5 km, and 10 km. Children can start with a 500-meter bambinoloop from age 4, with one parent or guardian allowed to run alongside. From age 6 there is a 1000-meter race, and runners from age 12 can join the 2.5 km distance. The start is beside community center De Paort, and the route uses short laps through the center of Kessel. Runners pass the Maas boulevard, the houses along the Veersepad, the historic market square, and the castle garden of Kasteel de Keverberg. The 500-meter race is one blue lap, the 1000 meters is two blue laps, and the longer distances use the green lap: once for 2.5 km, twice for 5 km, and four times for 10 km. Spectators can watch from terraces around the route, giving the event a village-center feel.
