The Rotte Dam Loop traces the Rotte, the river connected to Rotterdam’s origins, and maintains a social atmosphere: there is no timing and no pressure to achieve a specific outcome. Participants select from 1, 5, 10, or 21 km distances, including a 1 km kidsrun. The event emphasizes shared movement, allowing individuals to start alone, with companions, or join a group to share the course.
The 1 and 5 km courses traverse the Hoge Bergse Bos. The 10 and 21 km courses follow the waterway between Bergschenhoek and Rotterdam, passing the Hoge and Lage Bergse Bos before entering the city. Typically a point-to-point course, it connects Outdoor Valley in Bergschenhoek with the Binnenrotte in Rotterdam, meaning the start and finish are distinct locations. A cold drink is provided at the finish. For its fifth edition, a gathering at Outdoor Valley is included, along with a reversed direction for the 10 and 21 km routes.
