Snikkerun Haulerwijk begins and ends at Sportpark De Hichte on Scheidingsreed in Haulerwijk, a village in Friesland. This annual road running event takes place on the first Saturday in July. It features adult races of 5 km and 10 km, alongside several children’s events. The youngest children, aged 3 to 5 and 6 to 8, participate in parent-and-child fun runs, allowing adults to join. Children aged 9 to 12 compete in a timed 2.5 km kids run. Adult registration is exclusively online; no on-site registration is available. The kids run is free to enter.
The 5 km route departs the sports field, following Scheidingsreed, Slinke, and Slotenmaker de Bruineweg before turning onto Koudenburgerweg and passing through the village forest. The 10 km race consists of two laps of this same loop, meaning runners traverse the course twice instead of following a distinct longer route. Water stations are positioned at two points along the course, and participants receive water and fruit at the finish line. The event accommodates a broad age spectrum, with distinct men’s and women’s categories, awards for runners over 50 and youth up to 16, and a survival-style course on the sports field for the youngest participants.
