SterkR-toertocht Gravel

The SterkR-toertocht Gravel is an annual gravel and mountain bike ride originating from Hengelo, Netherlands, organized by RTC Hengelo. Participants begin at BWO Sportcomplex “De Noork” and select from marked routes, with 40 km and 60 km choices available. This event is a tour ride, not a closed-road race, using ribbons and arrows for navigation. The 40 km route begins on the singletracks of Lonnekerberg, proceeds across the grounds of Twente Airport, and enters the forests near the University of Twente. It also goes through Drienerloo and Sterrebos, an area accessible only during the event. The combination of singletrack, airport grounds, campus woods, and the restricted forest offers a varied experience compared to a standard countryside loop, suitable for both mountain bikes and gravel bikes.
