TexelTrail is an annual trail run on Texel, the Dutch island. The route sends runners into dunes, beach, wind, and open coastal nature. It offers 15 km, 24 km, and 42.2 km distances, allowing participants to select a solid trail outing or a marathon-length day. The start and aid station are at De Krim, near De Cocksdorp, with a shuttle bus provided from the start area.
The routes are almost entirely off-road, with sand, grass, shell paths, and mud underfoot instead of tarmac. The course crosses areas like De Nederlanden, De Muy, De Slufter, and the forest near De Koog, blending exposed dune country with beach landscape and wooded sections. Runners are advised to bring dry shoes because of the likelihood of wet feet, indicating the race's challenging, natural character shaped by island weather.
