Theo de Rooij Classic Gravel

The Theo de Rooij Classic Gravel begins in Rijssen, Overijssel, typically on a sunny June day, offering two gravel ride distances: 85 or 115 kilometers. This event is part of the Theo de Rooij Classic, an annual cycling gathering organized since 2010 by Tourclub Rijssen, attracting thousands of participants on road, gravel, and mountain bikes to the Twente region. The gravel courses are redesigned annually, leading into the countryside surrounding Rijssen. They feature characteristic Twente gravel paths, sandy tracks, undulating Overijssel country lanes, and extended straightaways. The broader event also maintains a significant charitable aspect, with participants having raised tens of thousands of euros, primarily for local initiatives.
