Wisent Winter Trail

Wisent Winter Trail is a New Year's Eve trail run held in Apeldoorn, within the wooded area surrounding the city. Participants can select from 5, 8.5, 16, or 23 kilometer distances, with each distance comprising a single loop. The event has a participant limit of 1,000, and the organizer is associated with the Atletiekunie. The routes are predominantly off-road, with at least 97% of the course on unpaved terrain. Runners will encounter narrow singletracks, stairs, short ascents, and sections of soft sand, ensuring that even the shorter distances offer a true trail running experience. Official timing is provided, but there are no aid stations on the course, offering a straightforward, self-reliant method to conclude the year on the forest paths near Apeldoorn.
