Ekholtløpet is a June evening race in Moss, Østfold, starting and finishing at Rygge Ungdomsskole on Bredsand. It is part of the Mossekarusellen carousel series and offers two distances: a short 3.8 km route and a longer route listed around 7 km, sometimes given as 6.9 km. Runners who want an official time start together at 18:30, while the recreational class leaves two minutes later.
The course uses varied terrain and includes one very specific caution point after about 1.5 km. Because railway construction sends the route on a small detour, runners must go down a wooden bridge with sharp turns near Carlberg farm, and the organizers tell participants to slow down there. That bridge is also why the recreational class starts separately from the timed runners, giving the field a little more space before the tight section.
