Frikarusellen - 2. løp 2026

Frikarusellen is a winter 5 km race series held at Espeland idrettsplass in Arna, starting at 19:00. Registration is online, with bib pickup at Espelandshallen before the race. Participants can register for the entire series or individual races. The event draws a local, practical field; a recent race with over 200 entrants saw 106 finishers due to icy conditions and cold weather. The course begins north of the Londalskrysset intersection, passes Gamle Haukeland station, and returns along the same path, finishing within Espeland idrettsplass. It was officially measured at 5 km after a previous iteration was found to be approximately 100 meters short. Current course records are 14:20 for men, set by Marius Vedvik, and 16:49.8 for women, set by Eli Anne Dvergsdal. Post-race drinks are provided. A temporary construction area near the start requires runners to use the sidewalk outside the barriers.
