Høvikløpet is a local running event held at Høvikbanen in Høvik, organized by DNV and Høvik IF. The event offers a program suitable for families and runners alike: a 200-meter Miniløpet for ages 2 to 6, a 1 km Barneløpet for ages 6 to 10, and the DNV Høvikløpet 5 km for participants aged 11 and older. The event's goals are straightforward: encourage physical activity, provide children with their own race day, and support Høvik IF's youth sports initiatives in the community.
The 5 km race begins and ends at Høvikbanen, featuring a varied course that is not entirely flat. The route incorporates hills and a mix of terrain, including asphalt, gravel, forest paths, seaside stretches, local roads, and parkland, passing through DNV’s historical grounds. The children’s races are situated closer to Høvikbanen, with the youngest participants completing one lap of the track. All participants receive a bib and a prize. Timing is available for 5 km runners over 13 years old, and attendees can also enjoy a Høvik waffle.
