Helse Førde-stafetten 2026

The Helse Førde-stafetten begins and ends at the Førde hospital, using the hospital grounds as the gathering place for runners, their families, and onlookers. This relay event takes place in the afternoon and evening, offering multiple participation options: teams can compete in the main relay, casual runners can join an untimed class, and children have their own separate races. With almost twenty years of history, the event prioritizes participation over purely competitive racing. The program features a 5th-grade relay, short and long races for children, and a "rakettløype" (rocket course) for the youngest participants before the main relay commences. Those not running are encouraged to cheer from the sidelines, ensuring the event is open to more than just registered teams. The day also includes a stage program, a kiosk, refreshments for participants, and a concluding prize ceremony, giving it the atmosphere of a community running festival rather than just a race.
